1st EPAL Sykeon participates in its 2nd KA 210 Erasmus: EWCORA

We are pleased to announce that our school is actively participating in a new Erasmus+ project dedicated to exploring and preserving European cultural heritage while fostering environmental consciousness. This significant initiative unites educational institutions from five countries—Greece, Spain, Italy, Türkiye, and North Macedonia—to collaborate on promoting sustainability, digital education, and intercultural exchange.

Spain coordinates the project, ensuring seamless communication and effective implementation of activities across all participating countries. Mrs Efraimidou Kyriaki, representing Greece, serves as the national coordinator and is pivotal in organizing and overseeing the involvement of Greek students and educators in this initiative. With a strong commitment to European values, the project aims to equip students with essential 21st-century skills while addressing the impact of climate change on UNESCO World Heritage cities.

Project Objectives

  • Cultural Heritage Preservation: Promoting awareness and appreciation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage within UNESCO-listed cities.
  • Environmental Awareness: Educating students on the effects of climate change and fostering sustainable solutions for a better future.
  • Digital Competency Development: Enhancing students' digital skills through Web 2.0 tools and online learning platforms.
  • Social Inclusion: Encouraging the participation of students from diverse backgrounds and promoting a sense of belonging within the broader European community.

Planned Activities

  • Physical and Virtual Mobilities: Students and teachers will engage in blended learning experiences, including visits to UNESCO heritage sites and interactive workshops.
  • eTwinning Collaboration: Partner schools will collaborate on a dedicated digital platform to share research findings and creative projects.
  • Erasmus Days Events: Each participating school will organize events showcasing project outcomes and encouraging broader community involvement.
  • Sustainability Workshops: Hands-on sessions will focus on environmental conservation, digital storytelling, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

This Erasmus+ project extends beyond a conventional educational framework. It is committed to fostering global citizenship, encouraging students to embrace cultural diversity, and empowering them to protect our shared heritage and environment actively. We eagerly anticipate this initiative's inspiring exchanges, valuable experiences, and enduring friendships.
